Jersey City Café May Reopen In Historic Home: SID
A downtown Jersey City bakery and café has indicated it will open soon.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A historic home near Jersey City's Grove Street PATH Station has seen small restaurants come and go. Now an artesan bakery and café may open there soon.
Two years ago, locals were excited about Bread Stone Bakery coming to the 1800s home at 301 Grove St. The eatery posted on social media from March through May 2024, then stopped.
Before that, City Bagel had opened and then closed at the spot, with some patrons saying it never quite fit the structure.

Bread Stone had posted photos of sandwiches and a bagel with lox and capers, promising "Bagels, sandwiches, pastries, breads." Their March 2024 post noted, "Greatness comes with patience."
Locals said they were confused, as the bagel spot had briefly opened and closed a few years ago, they said.
Patch has reached out to the business for clarification.
