Guilty Plea From Jersey City Man In Shooting Death Of Bayonne Woman

The state will recommend a 25-year sentence for the Jersey City man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2019 death of a Bayonne woman.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday that a Jersey City man, 31, had pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of a 26-year-old Bayonne woman in 2019.

The state will ask for a 25-year sentence for the 31-year-old man, the prosecutor's office said.

Anthony Shuler pleaded guilty in connection with the 2019 shooting death of Diamond Robinson, 26, of Bayonne, the prosecutor's office said.

Sentencing is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2, before the Honorable Mitzy Galis-Menendez.

The Prosecutor's Office said that on Sept. 22, 2019, at approximately 5:10 a.m., members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to 484 John F. Kennedy Boulevard on a report of a potential domestic violence incident.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive female – later identified as Robinson – with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 5:30 a.m.

NJ 101.5 had reported that she'd been killed in bed and that her killer had a criminal history.
