Jersey City Will Lose More Than $3M In School Aid From State Of NJ
Jersey City is one of several Hudson County towns that will see state aid for its schools slashed by 3 percent in the next school year.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — How much aid are public schools throughout New Jersey being awarded in Gov. Mikie Sherrill's next budget?
Some are getting more money to educate their students during the next school year (2026-2027), and some will receive less.
Hudson County saw three big cuts. West New York is down $4.2 million, a 3 percent reduction; Jersey City is down $3.88 million, a 3 percent reduction, and North Bergen will also see a 3 percent cut, $2million.
