BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — After a recent blizzard and the snow showers on Thursday, Bergen County residents may be growing impatient with winter weather.
But they can take heart.
The days are getting longer — or at least, the number of hours of sunshine each day is growing. The sun is setting a bit later each day.

On Friday, the sun set at 7 p.m EDT in northern New Jersey for the first time since last year.
Saturday, the sun will set at 7:02 p.m.

The sun is also rising earlier. It'll rise before 7 a.m. for the first time on March 20. That's also the first day of spring.
That said, temperatures are expected to be cold through this weekend and into a stormy Monday. See the forecast here.
