A man has been charged with murder after a victim was fatally stabbed with an arrow in NJ, prosecutors said.

KEARNY NJ — Police have charged a man with murder who fatally shot a victim with an arrow and barricaded himself in a burning apartment Sunday, prosecutors said.

Police were dispatched to the corner of Kearny and Johnson avenues around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, where a man had been felled by an arrow, Hudson County prosecutors said Monday.

Police found a man "who appeared to have been struck by a pointed object and died as a result of his injuries," prosecutors said.

Police identified Oscar Feijoo, 44, of Kearny as a “person of interest” in the killing. He barricaded himself nearby in his home on Kearny Avenue, according to prosecutors.

The county SWAT Team negotiated into the wee hours of Sunday morning, when several fires broke out in the home, prosecutors noted.

After firefighters extinguished the fires, the suspect came out of the apartment armed with knives and was arrested, officials said.

Feijoo was charged with murder, weapons possession, and aggravated arson, prosecutors said on Monday.

Residents of streets near the standoff were asked to shelter in place on Saturday night. Police lifted the order on Sunday.

Victim Identified

Prosecutors identified the victim on Monday as Pablo Criollo, 45, of Harrison.

Kearny's firefighters' union posted condolences on social media, describing the incident as "one that is typically only read about in training or mock scenarios."

"We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family affected by the horrifying incident that occurred yesterday," they wrote. "Our thoughts remain with them during this incredibly difficult time."
