Man Charged For Threatening To Shoot Judges: Bergen County Prosecutors

A man was arrested in Paterson and charged for allegedly threatening to shoot judges and bomb buildings, prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Paterson man was arrested last Thursday after having made social media posts "threatening to shoot and bomb government buildings and judges," prosecutors said.

Brandon M. Hernandez, 28, of 56 Park Ave., Paterson, was charged with terroristic threats and cyber-harassment, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

They said that starting Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, the Prosecutor’s Cyber Crimes Unit began an investigation regarding an emerging pattern of social media posts making the threats.

They identified Hernandez as the person responsible for the threatening posts, they said.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Office found Hernandez and arrested him. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
