Suspicious Package In Jersey City
A suspicious package was found in Jersey City on Tuesday afternoon.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A suspicious, unattended package was found in the area of Washington Street in Jersey City Tuesday afternoon, police said. The package was investigated, and police determined that it was safe. The Port Authority said PATH trains were stopped at the nearby Newport station but soon resumed service.
The incident happened at 2:15 p.m. when the Jersey City Police Department called PATH and requested train service bypass the Pavonia Station because of a suspicious package outside of 525 Washington St.
JCPD cleared the package, and PATH train service has resumed normal operation, the Port Authority said.
