'Taste Of Jersey City' Event Will Benefit Local Homeless Families

Enjoy local food, drink, and live music at a fundraiser for the York Street Project this week.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The York Street Project in Jersey City, which provides services for homeless families, is hosting a fundraiser Thursday night with local food, drinks, live music, and community.

"Evening Under the Stars: A Taste of Jersey City" takes place from 6 to 9 p.m.

The York Street Project has been serving Jersey City since 1989.

They said there are still tickets available, and they'd love to have more community members at the event.

"Our mission is to shelter, feed, educate, and promote the healing and independence of persons in need," they said. "We help families heal from lives impacted by trauma, poverty, and homelessness while also building long-term stability through safe housing, education, workforce development, and comprehensive family support."

Food highlights include Barolo-braised short rib from 87 Sussex, ramen favorites from Muteki Ramen, vegan penne alla vodka and empanadas from Gaia & Loki, boba from Uni Uni Boba, cold brew from Jersey City Roasters, pizza from Two Boots, and desserts from Cocoa Bakery and Jam Cakery.

There will also be items from La Bodega, Light Horse Tavern, Brown-Foreman, Just Salad, and more.
