• Raritan Bay Natural Gas Pipeline One Step Closer To Starting Construction (patch.com) — Keyport is one of 15 Raritan Bay towns that have formally opposed a 23-mile natural gas pipeline that just received a key state license and could start construction later this year. The project, which would run from Cliffwood Beach to Rockaway, Queens, has all major permits and now awaits a final decision from Gov. Mikie Sherrill and her administration.
   

• Man Shot In The Face During Chase Through Freehold Public Library: Affidavit (patch.com) — A 20-year-old Keyport resident faces weapons charges after a man was shot in the face during a chase through the Freehold Borough Public Library on April 30. The victim remains hospitalized, the library is still closed, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Monmouth County and Freehold Borough detectives.
   

• Attorney General Davenport Announces 2026 Excellence in Policing Award Recipients and Law Enforcement Wellness & Resiliency Grant Awards (njoag.gov) — Keyport’s police department is set to receive $18,945.92 from New Jersey’s 2026 Law Enforcement Wellness and Resiliency Grant Program to build a fitness and resiliency facility with new gym equipment. The statewide announcement also honors several officers, community leaders, and agencies for innovative policing, youth engagement, and mental health initiatives aimed at strengthening public safety and officer wellness.
