Armed Bank Robber In Lacey Caught, Police Say

LACEY, NJ — The man responsible for an armed robbery at TD Bank on March 9 has been caught, according to Lacey police.

On that day, a man entered the bank with a gun and demanded cash from a bank teller, police said. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.

That man, identified as 58-year-old Kenneth Grant from South Toms River, was caught on March 26 in Essex County by Lacey detectives with the assistance of the US Marshals NY/NJ Regional Task Force.

It was also discovered that prior to the TD Bank robbery, Grant had attempted an armed robbery at PNC Bank on Lacey Road in Forked River, though the attempt was not completed, police said.

Grant was charged with armed robbery, certain person not to be in possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and terroristic threats.

He was also charged with criminal attempt - armed robbery for the attempted robbery at PNC Bank.

Grant now sits in Ocean County Jail.
