Burglar Flees After Confrontation With Homeowner: Lacey Police

Mark Paturzzio was charged with burglary and theft after breaking into a Lacey home and stealing from a car in the garage, police said.

LACEY, NJ — A Manahawkin man was charged after he broke into a Lacey home, stealing from a car parked in the garage, police said.

The Sunrise Boulevard homeowner told police on Nov. 18 that she had heard a suspicious sound in her home, and then found an unknown man inside, according to a Lacey police news release.

The homeowner confronted the man, who then fled on foot, police said. Investigation found that he had also entered a parked car in the home's garage and stolen something, police said.

Police caught the suspect on Nov. 20. Mark Paturzzio, 48, was charged with second degree burglary of a residential dwelling, two counts of third degree burglary and theft. Paturzzio was taken to Ocean County Jail where he remains, police said.
