Carpet Outlet To Be Razed, Townhouses To Be Built In Lacey

The Zoning Board approved an application to construct nine housing units on one property and add a second floor to Main Street Laundromat.

LACEY, NJ — A new townhouse development is set to be constructed in Lacey after the Zoning Board of Adjustment approved its application at the Oct. 2 meeting.

Two corner lots at the intersection of South Main Street, Mill Street and Bay Avenue will be home to the developments, according to a public notice.

Applicant Riverview Rentals, LLC will raze Wholesale Carpet and Flooring Outlet and an existing two-unit residential building. Nine market rate residential housing units will replace the buildings.

The other property, home to Main Street Laundromat, will see the building receiving a second-story addition with two market rate residential housing units.

A variety of variances were also approved for things like lot sizes (slightly smaller than required) and for density (the outlet property has a proposed density of 9.38 dwelling units per acre, where 8 dwelling units per acre is permitted). Other conditional use variances included setbacks and buffers.
