Controlled Burning To Take Place Around Lacey-Berkeley Border
The burning takes place Monday on Dover Road near the Berkeley border.

Controlled burns will take place in Lacey by the Berkeley border Tuesday, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office announced. Officials will administer the burn on Dover Road, the OCSO said. They said they will also hold a controlled burn in Lacey behind Carriage Road in the back area of Double Trouble State Park.
The OSCO also announced the following controlled-burn locations:
- Little Egg Harbor: Route 539 between mile mark 6 and 7
- Manchester: Whiting Wildlife are near Schoolhouse Road
- Joint Base Lakehurst: North Boundary Road near the Russian Ruins
Controlled burning is conducted during cooler months. It reduces fuel buildup and decreases the likelihood of more serious, hotter fires.
