Cops: Forked River Man Drove Drunk, Crashed Into Parked Car

Lacey police recently arrested a Forked River man and charged him with drunk driving and heroin possession after he struck a parked car in the parking lot of Accredited Dermatology on Lacey Road, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Darrell Nick and Officer Martin Julian responded to the parking lot of Accredited Dermatology at 12:08 p.m. on March 4 on a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a parked car, the chief said.

There they found Landon S. Ruutikainen, 25, Abbey Court semi-responsive, with drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. He was arrested at the scene and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of heroin, and possession of a hypodermic syringe, Paprota said.

Ruutikainen was taken to police headquarters and processed. His vehicle was impounded pursuant to John's Law, the chief said.
