Drunken Driver Strikes Pedestrian, Her Car In Lacey: Police
A Bayville woman was hospitalized Monday night after an alleged drunken driver struck her and then her parked car, police said.

LACEY, NJ — A Forked River woman accused of drunken driving struck a woman standing behind her parked car before crashing into said car Monday night in Lacey, police said.
It was shortly after 5 p.m. on Dec. 2 when police and EMS responded to the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North for the report of a car hitting a pedestrian.
Kathleen Colaio, 44, was driving south in a Honda Civic when she crashed into the 63-year-old Bayville woman, who was standing behind her parked Honda Accord, police said.

After hitting the woman, Colaio immediately crashed into the rear of the Honda Accord, police said.
The Bayville woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On the scene, Colaio appeared to be intoxicated and was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said. Additional charges are pending.
During the investigation, Lake Barnegat Drive North was shut down between Brentwood Road and Steuben Avenue.
