An elderly man was uninjured Sunday afternoon when his Chevrolet Trailblazer struck a utility pole at Taylor Lane near the intersection of Cedar Lake Point in Forked River, Sgt. Paul Sullivan said.

Police responded to the area on a report of a motor vehicle accident. The driver swerved to avoid hitting an animal and struck the utility pole instead, he said.
