Five Injured In Two-Car Crash At Route 9 And Lacey Road

Intersection was reopened after a 30-minute delay, motor vehicle charges are pending.

Five people received minor injuries in a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 9 and Lacey Road early Wednesday evening, Sgt. Paul Sullivan Jr. said.

The 7:05 p.m. closed the intersection for roughly 30 minutes, he said.

A 1995 Chrysler Sebring with three occupants was headed north on Route 9 when the driver made a left turn directly in front of a 1999 Volkwagen Beetle traveling southbound, Sullivan said. The Beetle had two people in it, Sullivan said

All five were taken to Community Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation by Patrolman Verwey, and motor vehicle charges are pending. Traffic was diverted in the area for approximately 30 minutes, then the intersection was reopened, he said.
