Forked River Man Wearing A Halloween Mask Charged With Multiple Car Burglaries: Cops

Lacey police caught Jay P. Chirelli, 23, Clubhouse Drive, peering into parked cars, police chief says.

Lacey police recently charged a Clubhouse Drive man with several car burglaries and possession of stolen property after they responded to a report of a suspicious man wearing a Halloween mask peering into cars, Police Chief Michael DiBella said.

Officers Michael Hein and Michael Eden responded to the area of Brookdale and Norwick drives in the Forked River section of the township at 6:38 a.m. on July 31.

An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Jay P. Chirelli, 23. He was charged with burglary and theft of movable property after police found him with stolen property, DiBella said.

Chirelli's bail was set at $2,500 cash. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of bail, the chief said.
