Former GOP Mayor, Committeeman Appointed Town Historian
Lacey Township Committee unanimously appointed John Parker to the post.

John C. Parker - who has held many positions in Lacey - now has a new one.
The Lacey Township Committee unanimously appointed Parker as town historian at the Nov. 12 committee meeting.
Parker’s roots run deep in Southern Ocean County. His father’s family settled in Forked River in 1687, his mother’s family in Waretown in 1795.

“We’ve been kicking around here for a long time,” he said during the presentation.
Township Clerk Veronica Laureigh said the Ocean County Heritage and Cultural Commission asked the township to appoint a historian. Parker was the Township Committee’s first and only choice.

“You have more knowledge of this community that anybody,” Mayor Gary Quinn said.
Parker, a history buff, is a former member of the Ocean County Historical Society.
