Former Lacey Community Center Up For Sale
Bids have opened for the former Lacey Community Center, 101 N. Main St, starting at $2.9 million.

LACEY, NJ — Following the opening of the new Charles A. Smith Community Center, the former Lacey Community Center has gone up for auction.
Township officials have listed the building at 101 N. Main St. on GovDeals, an online marketplace for government agencies to sell surplus assets, with bids opening at $2.9 million. The auction kicked off Feb. 9 and runs through April 17.
The property includes the main building used as the community center and an additional Victorian home, the Worden House, which is currently used as office space. It is just under two acres.

It sits in the C-150 Highway Business Zone, intended for commercial use like retail, restaurants, shopping centers, offices and more.
“This property is in a prime location in town and would make a great site for a restaurant or bar,” Veronica Laureigh, township clerk/business administrator, said in a release. “The site could be easily improved or both structures could be removed to start with a clean slate.”

Potential buyers have to pay a refundable $10,000 deposit before placing a bid.
