Four Injured In Two-Car Crash That Took Down Pole on Lacey Road

One taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, three transported to Community Medical Center

Lacey police have charged a 19-year-old woman Forked River woman with careless driving after a two-car accident that injured four and took down a utility pole, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Evan Androcy and several other officers responded to the area of Lacey Road near Newark Avenue at 9:09 a.m. on June 10. Investigation at the scene indicated the woman made a left turn onto Lacey Road from J.T. Bagels and collided with a vehicle heading west on Lacey Road. The car she struck then hit the utility pole, the chief said.

Two of the occupants in the vehicle that struck the utility pole were taken to Community Medical Center by ambulance and another passenger was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by helicopter as a result of a head injury, Paprota said.

The 19-year-old female was also taken to Community Medical Center by ambulance. She was issued a summons for careless driving. That section of Lacey Road was shut down for several hours while the utility pole was repaired, the chief said.
