Lacey Blood Drive Honors Fallen Cop, Coach
John Scott Stevens was a highly-regarded detective for Ocean County. He died at age 44 from an automobile accident in 2015.

As a former officer and coach, John Scott Stevens saved lives and served as a pillar of the community. Now the Lacey community can help save lives in Stevens's name, as the American Red Cross hosts a blood drive in his honor this Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Knights of Columbus (15 Lacey Rd.).
Stevens served as a detective for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. As an avid sports fan, Stevens volunteered much of his time to coaching his son, Scott, and other teammates in Lacey Little League, Pop Warner and Youth Wrestling.
Stevens, 44, of Forked River, died from injuries in an automobile accident in 2015 in Neptune. He was working an undercover assignment when his vehicle struck a tree, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.
