Lacey Committee Swears In New Police Sergeant
Lacey Township police officer Michael Hein was promoted to sergeant and sworn in at a recent Township Committee meeting.

LACEY, NJ — Lacey Township Police Department promoted Officer Michael Hein to sergeant at Thursday's Township Committee meeting.
Hein was sworn in a year to the date that his father, Jeffrey Hein, who was a captain at the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, died.
Hein started as a correctional officer for the New Jersey Department of Corrections, police chief Michael DiBella said at the meeting. Hein was hired by LTPD in April 2013 as a fulltime police officer.

"Thank you, and keep us safe," McDonald said.
"Given your experience and education, and of course, working with these fine police officers, we know you're going to be a great leader and a great asset to our force," Mayor Mark Dykoff said.
