Lacey Cops: Forked River Man Had Heroin Stuffed Into Waistband, Drugs Hidden In Condom

Ryan M. Thomson, 32, was already wanted on an Atlantic County Sheriff's Department no-bail drug warrant, police chief says.

Lacey Township police recently discovered a drug cache when they found heroin and other drugs hidden in a Forked River man’s waistband after a motor vehicle stop, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Anthony Sarno stopped a vehicle driven by Ryan M. Thomson, 32, on Beverly Road in the South Barnegat Pines section of Forked River at 10:14 p.m. on Feb. 10, the chief said.

Thomson already had an Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department no-bail warrant for drug offenses. Lacey police discovered 54 wax folds of heroin hidden in a one-inch tear in Thomson’s waistband. They also found four Buprenorphine Hydrochloride and Naloxone Hydrocholoride pills stuffed inside a condom in the waistband, Paprota said..

Thomson was charged with third-degree possession of heroin and possession of prescription legend drugs. Municipal Court Judge Damian G. Murray set his bail at $25,000. Thomson was also issued summons for failure to signal turn, failure to inspect, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, the chief said.
