Lacey Cops: Man Reportedly Bit Part Of Another Man's Ear Off
Police charged Terence P. Bacon of Forked River with aggravated assault.

Lacey police recently charged a township man with aggravated assault after he bit the top of a man's ear off during an altercation, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.
Officer Elton Copes responded to a Chestnut Drive residence in Lanoka Harbor at 5:57 p.m. on Feb. 29 on a report of an assault that occurred earlier on Pineview Drive in Forked River, the chief said.
The victim, a 51-year-old male from Chestnut Drive, had significant injury to his left ear. The victim reported that he was 1745 Pineview Road in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River, when he became involved in a verbal argument with Terence P. Bacon, 52. The victim told police the dispute became physical and Bacon allegedly bit the top part of his left ear off, Paprota said.

The victim then drove home to his own residence and contacted police. Detective Alan Abrecht responded to the scene for a follow-up investigation. Bacon turned himself in at police headquarters a short time later. Bacon was charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, the chief said.
Municipal Court Judge Damian G. Murray set Bacon's bail at $25,000. Bacon posted bail through a bail bondsman and was released from custody after processing, the chief said.
