Lacey Cops: Woman Slumped Over Steering Wheel Charged With Heroin Possession

Lacey police recently arrested a Toms River woman found slumped over the steering wheel of her car in the Wawa parking lot for heroin possession and other drug charges, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officers Elton Copes and Charles May responded to the parking lot of on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor at 6:10 p.m. on March 3 a report of a female slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle. The officers were able to wake her up and spotted drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, the chief said.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Nikki L. Picht, 31, Avon Court, Toms River, for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving under the influence, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of Suboxone without a prescription, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Paprota said.

The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law, the chief said.
