Lacey Elks Lodge donated $1,000 to our local men and women in blue

The Officers and Trustees are excited to announce that the Lacey Elks Lodge donated $1,000 to support our local men and women in blue as they embark on the courageous annual Police Unity Tour bike ride to Washington, D.C. This journey, which will take four days, is not just about the ride itself but about a deeply meaningful cause: raising funds for the families of our fallen heroes.

For those who may be unaware, the Police Unity Tour (P.U.T.) is an annual Bicycle Ride established to raise awareness for Law Enforcement Officers, killed in the line of duty. Beginning with just 18 riders in 1997, the P.U.T. has grown to host over 2,600 riders. Commencing in the Essex County area of NJ, the P.U.T. is a four (4) day bicycle trek to Washington D.C., ending at the National Law Enforcement Memorial. The P.U.T. has raised $36 million over the last 27 years. This year, Team Lacey will be comprised of seven (7) riders: Detective Brian Flynn, Patrolman Brian Holt, Ptl. Michael Hyle, Ptl. Shawn Spina, Ptl. John Labbate, Ptl. Casey Lepeshko, and Ptl. Damian Morrone.

The Lacey Township Police Department and Lacey Twp. PBA Local #238 stated that they were overwhelmed by our incredibly generous gesture and that they deeply value the Lacey Elks Lodge 2518 support.

These brave individuals risk their lives daily to protect our communities; unfortunately, some have made the ultimate sacrifice. The families left behind often face significant challenges, both emotionally and financially. This bike ride serves as an opportunity for us to show our support and gratitude for their service.
