Lacey Looks For Residents To Plan Town's 150th Birthday

LACEY, NJ — It's not often you get to celebrate a 150th birthday. Lacey Township is already preparing for its sesquicentennial in 2021.

The Township is assembling a Sesquicentennial Committee to help put together the 150th Celebration for 2021. Officials are looking for interested community members.

The committee would participate in event planning, community outreach and coordination, marketing and media relations, legacy committee, fundraising and steering committee.

Members will plan throughout 2020 to kick off the 2021 celebrations. If you're interested, send a letter of interest with your area of expertise to laceyclerk@laceytownship.org.

Lacey was incorporated into a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 23, 1871 from portions of Dover Township and Union Township — now known as Toms River and Barnegat, respectively — according to laceytownship.org.
