The Lacey Township Office of Emergency Management is recommending that residents in flood-prone areas should “strongly consider” evacuating to higher ground in advance of the coming storm
“Those whose homes are in low-lying areas and are susceptible to flooding should strongly consider voluntarily evacuating prior to the storm and staying with friends or family on higher ground, if possible,” Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

The storm is expect to hit during the late evening hours with heavy snow, strong winds and flooding in back-bay areas, the chief said.
If the worst projections impact Lacey, residents can expect to be housebound for the weekend and need to take care of food, water, medication, healthcare needs, lighting and warmth, Paprota said.

High tide on the Forked River is expected at 10:08 a.m. on Saturday, 13 hours after the storm hits the area, he said.
Residents can use Gille Park near the hockey rinks to temporarily park vehicles on higher ground and off the roadways. No vehicles can be parked on roadways once the snow starts. Vehicles parked and left on roadways will be towed to provide the plow operators to clear snow. Portable basketball nets must be moved from roadsides, Paprota said.
