Lacey Police Charge Forked River Woman With Shoplifting $1,074 Of Items

Amanda Malinowski, 35, also charged with possession of tools to remove anti-shoplifting devices, police chief says.

Lacey police recently arrested a Forked River woman after an employee at the Kohl's store on Route 9 North in Forked River reported she took 29 items into a fitting room and removed the security sensor tags, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Jesse Dalziel and Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the store at 3:58 p.m. on May 5 on a shoplifting report. . The woman concealed the items in two personal bags that she reportedly bought into the store, the chief said.

Amanda L. Malinowski, 35, Brentwood Place, then tried to leave the store without paying for the concealed merchandise. Police arrested her at the scene for shoplifting and the use of tools to remove to remove anti-shoplifting devices. She also had a $250 outstanding warrant from Toms River Municipal Court, Paprota said.
