Lacey Police Charge Rahway Woman With Drunk Driving

Melody Duah, 24, Montgomery Street arrested after motor vehicle stop, police chief says.

Lacey police recently arrested a Rahway woman and charged her with drunk driving and a number of traffic summonses after a motor vehicle stop, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas was working a Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund special detail at 12:09 a.m. on March 19 when he stopped Melody Duah, 24, on Lacey Road near the intersection with Shepard Avenue, the chief said.

Duah was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence and take to police headquarters. She was also charged with reckless driving, making an improper turn, driving with an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane, Paprota said.

The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law, the chief said.
