Lacey Police Charge Underage Driver With Drunk Driving After Motor Vehicle Stop

Lawrence J. Harmon III facing numerous charges, police chief says

Lacey police recently charged a Stuyvesant Street man with drunk driving, underage driving under the influence and other charges after a motor vehicle stop on Route 9, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Scott Keefe was on patrol when he observed a vehicle speeding south on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South at 1:39 a.m. on June 17. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Lawrence J. Harmon III, 18, for drunk driving, the chief said.

Two adults and a 17-year-old juvenile were also in the vehicle. Harmon was taken to police headquarters, where he was also charged with underage driving under the influence, reckless driving, speeding, driving under the influence with a minor in the vehicle and possession of an alcoholic beverage by an underage person, Paprota said.

The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
