Lacey Police Investigating Theft Of Copper Pipes From Labcorp Building

Theft and damages estimated at $18,000.

Lacey detectives are investigating the theft of $18,000 worth of copper from five air conditioning units at the Labcorp building on Lacey Road.

Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the building at 525 Lacey Road in Forked River at 1:28 p.m. on Feb. 1, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

The manager told police that sometime between October 2015 and February 1, 2016, some person or persons cut and removed the copper from the units that are located on the outside of the building, the chief said.
