Lacey Police Log: Jan. 11-Jan. 17

Lacey police release their weekly activity report.

The Lacey Township Police Department posted the following information. All incidents are merely accusations, and those accused are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

  • A vehicle struck a utility pole and caught fire on Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. The top of the utility pole was engulfed in flames and caused a brief power outage in the area. The driver and passenger exited the vehicle before police arrived. The passenger, a 20-year-old Lanoka Harbor woman, was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The driver, a 20-year-old from Tuckerton, was not hurt.
  • Motor vehicle burglary, Sheffield Drive in Forked River, orange flashlight and keys stolen.
  • Motor vehicle burglary, 1200 block of Tamarack Road in Forked River, jewelry valued at $432 stolen.

  • Brandon Carte, 22, of Bayville, arrested on an outstanding warrant of $1,250.
  • Fraud, Lanoka Harbor woman defrauded out of $3,000.
  • Criminal mischief under investigation at Lacey Middle School. An unknown person operated a pickup truck on the easternmost soccer field and extensively damaged the turf.

Saturday, Jan. 12

  • Antonio Giudice, 53, of Forked River, arrested for shoplifting at Walmart in Lanoka Harbor and for an outstanding warrant.
  • Criminal mischief (auto) reported, 600 block of Twin River Drive in Forked River. The complainant reported a dent in the rear door and damage to the passenger side mirror of her rental vehicle.
