Lacey Police Report 2 Cases Of Fraud This Week
The cases involved Facebook Marketplace and a debit card used in North Jersey and New York.
LACEY, NJ — Lacey police reported two cases of fraud this week. The incidents involved Facebook Marketplace and a debit card used in North Jersey and New York.
One victim told police Tuesday that someone transferred funds from her savings to her checking account using a debit card. The person then used the debit card in Paramus and New York City.
The victim told police she had her debit card the entire time and only noticed the activity through her bank statement. The loss totaled $8,925.

In a separate case, a victim told police Monday that he purchased a vehicle part through Facebook Marketplace. The seller deleted the account shortly after the purchase, and the victim couldn't get in touch with the seller. The purchase totaled $2,050.
