Lacey Police Searching For Supect Who Robbed Mrs. Walker's Ice Cream On Sunday Night

The man told employees if they called police he would come back and kill them, police chief says

Lacey police are searching for a black male who entered Mrs. Walker’s Ice Cream at closing time on Route 9 Sunday night and demanded all the cash on hand from two employees, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

The man walked into the store at 132 South Main Street at 10 p.m., demanded the money and told the employees he had a handgun in his back pocket, although he never showed a weapon, the chief said.

The employees gave the man an undetermined amount of cash, which he put in a pillow case he was carrying. He then told the employees if they called the police he would return to kill them, Paprota said.

The man fled out the door on the north side of the building on foot toward Route 9. The subject is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 6’01” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a white mask, a hooded multi-colored sweatshirt, gray sweat pants and white gloves, the chief said.

The employees called the owner who contacted the Lacey police. The suspect fled the area prior to the police department being contacted. Officers responded and conducted a search of the area. Detective Abrecht responded to conduct the follow-up investigation, Paprota said.
