LACEY, NJ — Lacey police shared a few reminders with residents ahead of the July 4th weekend.

"We would like to remind our residents that most fireworks remain illegal to use without a valid permit," police said. Non-aerial fireworks like snappers and party-poppers are legal, but aerial fireworks such as firecrackers and skyrockets are not permitted in New Jersey.

Police advised that there will be no parking on certain portions of the shoulder of Haines Street so pedestrians crossing to the high school will be safe. Also, Haines Street needs to be clear in case of emergency, police said.

If you are not attending the display but still are driving in the area, police said to consider avoiding the area of Manchester Avenue and Haines Street as traffic tends to get backed up.

"Thank you and enjoy this event," police said.
