Lacey Police Urge Residents To Lock Car Doors, Prevent Theft
Following the recent surge of motor vehicle thefts, Lacey police are reminding residents to lock their car doors and take their keys inside.

LACEY, NJ — The Lacey Township Police Department is urging residents to practice safety amidst the influx of recent motor vehicle thefts in New Jersey.
Thieves target unlocked cars and particularly those with key fobs inside the car, Lacey police said. Police issued a public safety announcement to residents so crime can be prevented.
Lock your car doors and bring the key fobs inside, Lacey police said. Police also said to hide valuable objects from view.

Motor vehicle thefts are on the rise throughout New Jersey and particularly in Ocean County. A recent attempted theft in Lavallette had a thief trying to open a locked car, highlighting the importance of keeping doors locked.
