Lacey Township Welcomes New Fire Volunteers
Lacey Township officials celebrated recent graduations from the Ocean County Fire Academy.
LACEY, NJ — Lacey Township is seeing new volunteers join its fire and EMS services, with four residents recently graduating from the Ocean County Fire Academy.
The Lacey graduates included three for the Forked River Fire Department and one for the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department.
Deputy Mayor Robert Laureigh attended the graduation, noting that it was "a nice affair."

"I want to congratulate them all," he said of the new graduates.
Committeewoman PeggySue Juliano added that she attended the Lanoka Harbor EMS dinner, where she observed a "young group of people" coming up in the ranks. She expressed appreciation for their hard work and dedication to the community.

"They're just a group of wonderful people," she said.
Committeeman Tim McDonald also noted that during a recent budget meeting, Forked River Fire reported 11 new volunteers.
"That's huge," McDonald said.
He added that Lanoka Harbor also has a young and energetic group of volunteers, indicating strong leadership within the organization.
Mayor Steven Kennis mentioned attending the Lanoka EMS installation dinner, where it was reported that the organization handled a record 1,600 calls this year.
"So it's always good to see that we're still getting volunteers," Kennis said.
