Lakeside Drive North Telephone Pole Fire Causes Some Power Outages

A late night telephone pole fire forced the closure of the 500 block of Lakeside Drive North in Forked River and led to intermittent power outages as repairs were being made. Lt. Paul Suliivan said.

The pole caught fire around 11:31 p.m. on Monday night. The blaze was quickly put out by members of the Forked River Fire Company.The pole was damaged and had to be replaced, he said.

Lakeside Drive North was temporarily closed from Holmes Avenue to Lake Barnegat Drive North for several hours. Power may be out intermittently throughout the repair process, Sullivan said.
