Lanoka Harbor Woman Drove Drunk, Had Drugs In Car With Her Three Kids: Police

Leah S. Lamendola arrested after three-car accident on Route 9 and North Street, police chief says.

Lacey Township police recently arrested a Laurel Boulevard woman and charged her with drunk driving, possession of controlled dangerous substances and numerous other charges after an three-car accident recently.

Police Chief David A. Paprota said Leah S. Lamendola, 35, was driving with her three children, ages 7, 6 and 2 when she was involved in the accident at 5:33 p.m. on Nov. 5 in the area of Route 9 North and First Street.

She was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a minor in the car, endangering the welfare of a minor child, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and careless driving, the chief said.

Municipal Court Judge Damian Murray set her bail at $50,000. She was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of bail. The children were turned over to the custody of a family member, Paprota said.

The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
