A Letter To The Editor From Gary Quinn
Quinn responds to charges made in campaign fliers.

Dear Lacey Residents,
Integrity is defined as the quality of being honest and having moral principles. Your elected officials should serve – and conduct themselves – with the highest degree of integrity, humility, and selflessness.
This past weekend, an “anonymous” flier was mailed to targeted Republican voters by our opponents Tom Crowell and Eric Schubiger. It was filled with vicious lies and personal attacks on my family. Earlier this month, Crowell and Schubiger made a similarly despicable attack on candidate Jim Letellier and his family. Both pieces are in clear violation of state election law, since they lacked the required disclosures and are under investigation by the State.

In politics, reasonable minds can disagree and your opponents can challenge and question the decisions you’ve made. However, dragging family members into the mud is unbecoming of a person looking to serve the public. Unfortunately, Tom Crowell and Eric Schubiger prefer a campaign of personal smears to one of positive ideas.
The most infuriating lie told by Schubiger and Crowell was their gutless attack on my son and his service as a police officer. For those who are not aware, my son was involved in a fatal shooting while on duty and saved the life of his superior officer. He was awarded a medal by the state for his heroism. To attack my son for experiencing mental anguish after the incident takes a special kind of low-life. Mr. Schubiger and Mr. Crowell should be ashamed of themselves and I hope that they never have one of their children go through a similar incident.

The Primary Election on Tuesday, June 2 is critical to the future of our town, as well as the Republican Party in Lacey Township.
Eric Schubiger and Tom Crowell recognize that they cannot get elected based on their record, which is why they have made their entire campaign about lies and personal attacks. Both Eric Schubiger and Tom Crowell have proven that they lack integrity, honor, and the values to serve and represent our community.
Tim McDonald and I pledge to continue to serve ALL the taxpayers. We humbly ask for your support Tuesday, June 2, and with your help we will ensure that integrity remains a cornerstone of your Republican candidates in Lacey Township.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
Very truly yours,
Mayor Gary Quinn
