'Lofts At Lacey' Hearing Pushed To June Planning Board Meeting
Lofts at Lacey is a 270-unit condo project, with gas station, retail and more. A public hearing on it will be held June 13.

LACEY, NJ — An application and public hearing on the controversial Lofts at Lacey project has been pushed back until June.
The hearing was scheduled for the May 9 Lacey Planning Board meeting, but Chairman Dan Cortese announced that it would instead be heard at the June 13 meeting. The applicant, M & T Properties, had requested it be carried.
So what is Lofts at Lacey? The application has gone through different designs since 2002. The plan is for a 270-unit condominium development, with a clubhouse, leasing area, pool and pool cabana, maintenance building and a small playground for young children. The application also includes a convenience store/gas station and retail store development.

The planned location is Route 9, Laurel Boulevard and Railroad Avenue North in Lanoka Harbor. It would be to the south of the CVS and behind Kearny Bank.
The application is for an amended preliminary and final major site plan.

Some residents are unhappy with the project, citing the likely increase in traffic. Regina Discenza spoke at the end of the May 9 meeting in the public comments portion to share that she had previously asked for the project to "be scaled back a bit." The project would involve a lot of cars and traffic, she said.
Residents will be able to voice their feelings on the project at the June 13 meeting.
