Vehicle was running when police arrived, chief said.

Lacey police recently charged a Lanoka Harbor man with drunk driving after he was found passed out behind the wheel in front of the Wawa store on Route 9 North, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.
Officer Elton Copes and Sergeant Robert Flynn responded to Wawa in Lanoka Harbor at 11:26 p.m. on March 19 on a report of a male subject passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle. When officers arrived, the vehicle was running and the driver was passed out in the driver's seat, the chief said.
Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Douglas Laperry, 46, Cedar Drive, for driving under the influence. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and also charged with reckless driving. He also had two outstanding warrants, one for $289 from Jackson Township and $104 from Wall Township Municipal Court. Laperry posted bail for the warrants.
