Money Stolen From Employee Locker At Lacey Library

The locker was unlocked at the time of the theft, police say.

Lacey police are investigating the theft of several hundred dollars from a locker at the Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library recently, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Noah Schaffer responded to a theft report at 10:32 a.m. on June 6 at the library on East Lacey Road. The victim told police that between 9 a.m. and 1p.m. on Saturday, June 4, an unknown person or persons stole $264 in cash from her locker in the employee locker room at the library, the chief said.

The money was inside her zippered, multi-colored wallet in her purse. The victim noticed that items in her locker had been moved, but did not realize that the money had been stolen until the next day. The locker was unlocked at the time of the theft, Paprota said.
