Motor Vehicle Crashes And Warrants: Lacey Township Police Blotter

This week in Lacey, motor vehicle crashes led to DWI charges, according to the weekly police blotter.

LACEY, NJ — Warrant arrests were made and people were charged with DWI after motor vehicle crashes in the Lacey Township Police Blotter from April 14 to 21.

Warrant Arrest: On Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 8:52 p.m., Officer Hyle responded to police headquarters for a report of a male subject who had an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant and wished to turn himself in. Officer Hyle met with Carmelo Perez Jr., 49, of Atlantic City, and confirmed the warrant. Perez was placed under arrest and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.

Motor Vehicle Stop/Warrant: On April 15, 2022, at 4:39 p.m., Officer Hutman conducted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Lacey Road and Hoffman Road for careless driving. The driver, Joseph Calafiore, 23, was found to have an outstanding “no bail” warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Calafiore was placed under arrest and transported to Ocean County Correctional Facility. Calafiore was also issued summonses for careless driving and driving while suspended.

Motor Vehicle Crash/DWI: On Sunday, April 17, 2022, at 1:55 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Route 9 North and South Street, for motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found a single motor vehicle had crashed into a utility pole. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Richard Heisler 2nd, 24, of Beachwood. Through the course of an investigation, it was determined Heisler showed signs of impairment. Heisler was later charged with DWI along with several other motor vehicle violations.

Possession of Toxic Chemicals: On April 17, 2022, at 11:52 a.m., Officer D’Antonio and Schaffer responded to the parking lot of Rite Aid for a report of a male sleeping in a vehicle, possibly huffing a can of compressed gas duster. Upon arrival, Officer Schaffer made contact with Walter Paseler Jr., 53, of Waretown, who was observed to be sleeping in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Paseler was awoken, and found to be holding a can of compressed gas duster in his hand. Paseler was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Paseler was charged with inhaling toxic chemicals and possession of a toxic chemical on a complaint summons then released.

Motor Vehicle Crash/DWI: On Monday, April 18, 2022, at 11:43 a.m., Officer Simonson and Officer Nilon responded to the intersection of Lacey Road and Spaulding Avenue for a report of a single motor vehicle into a tree. Upon arrival the driver was identified as Jennifer Radigan, 48, of Waretown. On-scene interactions indicated she was under the influence. Radigan was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. In the end, Radigan was served with a criminal summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic summonses for DWI as well as multiple motor vehicle violations. Radigan was released in accordance with John’s Law.
