"We are continually asked when the dogs from the recent Jackson and Howell hoarding cases will be available for adoption and we cannot stress enough the trauma that these dogs have been through," according to a post on the shelter's Facebook page. "We will not adopt them out until they are ready, as that would be setting them up to fail. They deserve so much more than that."

"They all had little to no human interaction in their young lives and many of them from both cases had never even been outdoors before they were rescued from the awful places that they were living in," the post states. "The fear that these dogs have is heartbreaking. Simple things like taking a treat from a stranger or taking a walk outside causes them such anxiety and fear that they don't know what to do except hide and cry."

Shelter employees are working constantly and gently with the 60 dogs they took in from the hoarding situations. Popcorn Park is grateful for the public's support, but more help is needed.

"They are learning and they are relaxing more and more, and we are so proud of them all!," the post states
