Rise In Catalytic Converter Thefts Has Lacey Police Urging Caution

In the overnight hours of Feb. 25 and 26, nine catalytic converters were stolen from parked cars in the Barnegat Pines, police said.

LACEY, NJ — A rash in catalytic converter thefts in one neighborhood has police reminding residents to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity.

In the overnight hours of Feb. 25 and 26, nine separate catalytic converter thefts were reported in the northern section of the Barnegat Pines, Lacey police said.

The cars were all parked on the driveway or on the street in front of their homes, police said.

"Please be aware of this, and report any suspicious activity to the Lacey Township Police Department," police said.

Additionally, anyone with information related to the thefts is asked to contact the department as well.
