Leonard J. Morano Jr., Former Mayor of Barnegat, Dies At 75
Services are slated for today and Monday.

Leonard Morano, Jr., of Barnegat died on Nov. 24, 2016. He was 75.
A resident of Barnegat Township for over 40 years, where he was employed by the Board of Education. He , felt a civic-minded responsibility towards the improvement of his community.

Starting in 1973 “Lenny” held such positions as Township Committee member, police commissioner, deputy mayor and mayor in 2013. He was also a devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Barnegat.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joann (Lanzetti) Morano and a brother, Anthony Morano. He is survived by three loving children, Leonard J. Morano, III, Joseph F. Morano, Kelly Ann Monek; five cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Khiana, Kylie and Giovanna; his devoted sister, Carol Doran; his devoted brother, Joseph A. Morano.

A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Barnegat Funeral Home at 841 West Bay Avenue in Barnegat. Interment will take place at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Washington Township.
