'Suspicious' Man Running Through Traffic: Lacey Police Blotter
The man was running in and out of traffic, and also discarded a hypodermic syringe or needle, according to this week's Lacey police blotter.

LACEY, NJ — There were two warrant arrests this past week in Lacey, according to the Lacey Township Police blotter for Sept. 22 through Sept. 29.
Disturbance/Warrant Arrest: On Friday, September 23, 2022, at 9:08 p.m., officers responded to the Lacey Inn for a report of a disturbance involving guests. Upon their arrival, officers made contact with one of the guests, a 33-year-old man from South Amboy. He was found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the Piscataway Municipal Court, and was placed under arrest. The man was transported to police headquarters where he was processed prior to being released on his own recognizance, pending a future court appearance.
Shoplifting: On Monday, September 26, 2022, at 5:16 p.m., Officers Gant and Keefe responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a male and female fail to ring up a number of items while at the self-checkout, then attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The stolen items were valued at $389.43. Officers met with the suspects, a 25-year-old and a 32-year-old, both of Barnegat, and placed them under arrest. They were transported to police headquarters and charged with Shoplifting. The 25-year-old was charged on a warrant and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, where he was lodged without incident. The 32-year-old was charged on a summons and released pending a future court appearance.

Criminal Mischief: On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 11:22 p.m., while on routine patrol, Officer Watkins discovered graffiti on a portion of the vinyl fence along the Barnegat Branch walking trail in the area of Route 9 South. The value of the damage was estimated at $50.00.
Fire: On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 12:35 p.m., Officer Daniel Biel responded to a Sandpiper Drive residence for a report of a structure fire. Members from the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, Forked River Fire Department, and Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded. Upon their arrival, it was determined that a small fire on one of the home’s balconies had already been extinguished by the home owner. The fire was not believed to be suspicious, and its cause is under investigation.

Suspicious Person/Warrant Arrest: On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 1:11 p.m., officers responded to the area of Route 9 and Sunrise Boulevard for a report of a male running in and out of traffic. Upon their arrival, officers made contact with the subject, a 38-year-old Lacey man. Dominick was found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the Manchester Township Municipal Court, and was placed under arrest. Dominick was also issued summonses for Littering and Discarding Hypodermic Needle or Syringe. He was then transported to police headquarters and turned over to the Manchester Township Police Department, without incident.
